NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Sauchis N’ Grits Brunch Fete was one of the most anticipated events of the Carnival season, and our Denielle Miller was there for it all!

The brunch’s fete’s clever name perfectly accentuated the essence of the event.

By the time as we arrived shortly after 8pm, we were greeted with the aroma of food, most notably grits.

On display, a taco station, jerk, fresh fruit and an endless amount of adult beverages, and on stage, a line up of some of the country’s best DJs.

This fete was not limited to just Soca music but a Caribbean mash up that made the dance floor irresistible.

Artists Ton Ash, Julien Believe, Rik Carey hit the stage, ahead of a surprise appearance from Trinidad and Tobago entertainer Oscar B., and in a climatic performance, international Soca artist Mical Teja took the energy over the top.

“Coming here to The Bahamas for the first time and seeing people singing the music enjoying it, and you could tell that it’s something that really resonates with them, I mean it was definitely a surreal feeling for me,” Teja said.

Mical was not the only one hypnotized by this moment, as he sung a harmonious blend of his hits and classic Calypso music.
The rhythm hitting our souls and feet.

“Ready for a brand new discovery, Calypso Calypso Calypso music,” Teja said.
