INDIA – A bridge carrying dozens of tourists collapsed in India, killing at least 6 and leaving others missing.

The incident occurred when the crossing point over the swollen Indrayani River gave way in Pune, Maharashtra on Sunday.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said the structural failure, caused by rust and overcrowding, led to the tragic disaster.

Nearly 100 people were reportedly on the bridge, a popular monsoon tourist spot, when the incident happened.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid riverbanks and dilapidated structures amid continued rainfall.
