NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In preparation for the country’s 52nd independence, we are putting your favorite Bahamian dishes to the test.

From stew fish, to baked macaroni and guava duff we can all agree the taste of Bahamian dishes is a unique cultural experience.

It not only captivates the taste buds of locals but also captures the hearts of countless visitors like international Soca artist Mical Teja.

During a recent interview with the rising star, he boasted about the grilled fish he had from a local restaurant:

“That snapper taste real good…taste real real good [sic]…,” he said.

His comment led me on a quest to the Bush Gardens restaurant located on Arawak Cay to conduct our taste test.

Where will we visit next? Stay tuned as we celebrate independence with down-home Bahamian food adventures.
