NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recently hosted its inaugural Live Well Summit at Bahamar.

Over 500 members from around the United States and The Bahamas were present. In doing so, they donated 6 smart TVs to the Ranfurly Homes for Children.

The televisions were mounted in the transition homes for young adults, who support themselves, but live in private homes on the compound.

According to the administrator, Ingrid Deveaux, about six residents, including college-bound students, attend the University of The Bahamas.

“We should have six residents momentarily. A couple of them will be attending the University of The Bahamas, and most of them will be going into employment, so I know that these televisions will go a long way in helping them with their assignments, entertainment, and overall well-being,” Ms Deveaux said.

In addition to the TVs, the Sorority also donated 15 storage bins of clothing and toiletries to the orphanage, which currently houses about 20 children between the ages of 5 – 18. A similar donation was made to the Grand Bahama Children’s Home in Grand Bahama.
